The American physicist Shuji Nakamura (Seto, Japan, 1954) Nobel Prize in Physics 2014 for the invention of blue LEDs and his contribution to energy saving, has been named Doctor Honoris Causa by the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP). The inauguration, held on June 22, 2017 in the Royal Hall of the Magdalena Palace, was presided over by the rector César Nombela.
