Congratulations to our UCSB Alumnae, Dr. Kathryn "Kate" Kelchner, for organizing the second-ever women's event in conjunction with the International Workshop of Nitrides Semiconductors (IWN) in Berlin!
Dr. Stacia Keller (SSLEEC's Principal Development Engineer) was Kate's collaborator, a moderator and a co-host of a career panel from fellow women at the forefront of nitrides research, including: Dr. Eva Monroy from CEA France, Prof. Srabanti Chowdhury from Stanford USA (UCSB alumnae), Prof. Åsa Haglund from Chalmers Sweden, Dr. Hee Jin Kim from Lumileds USA and Prof. Kei May Lau from HKUST Hong Kong.
The topic of the panel discussion was: "Your career journey and advice to your younger self." It inspired a lot of great stories, some laughs, some shared frustrations, and great advice. Themes included mentorship, allyship, balancing work/life, and overcoming imposter syndrome.
Congratulations again to these women in science and engineering!
